Seattle PD: All Clear
We're excited to present "All Clear," a compelling three-part recruitment series developed for the Seattle Police Department (SPD). The project aimed to attract recruits who embody human-centric values, empathy, and a deep understanding of the SPD Code of Ethics: justice, excellence, humility, harm reduction, and service. To achieve this, we created a series of animated shorts highlighting real stories of SPD officers making a difference in their community.
The first installment, "First on the Scene," recounts the heroic act of an officer who saves a man’s life on a bus. This touching narrative sets the tone for the series, showcasing the profound impact compassionate policing can have on individuals.
The second episode, "The Negotiation," presents the gripping true story of SPD officers rescuing two hostages. This segment emphasizes our goal of creating an emotional connection with viewers. We chose an illustration style reminiscent of woodblock prints to enhance the authenticity and boldness of these real-life heroics. By arranging 2D layers in 3D spaces, we achieved a dynamic parallax effect that accentuates the urgency and bravery of the officers involved.
The series culminates with "The Rescue," which tells the dramatic story of SPD officers saving a man from drowning in Portage Bay. Throughout the "All Clear" campaign, we emphasized sound design, integrating music, sound effects, voiceovers, and authentic audio to enrich the storytelling. This multifaceted soundscape and vibrant animation allow viewers to immerse themselves in the narratives and engage their imaginations fully.
