A Man on the Inside

The Netflix series A Man on the Inside follows Charles, a retiree-turned-amateur private investigator, as he goes undercover in a retirement home to investigate a string of thefts. yU+co was tasked with designing a Main Title Card that would establish the world and tone of the heartwarming comedy. In the show, Charles’ pocket square is a signature piece of his spy ensemble, indicating when he is actively in “spy mode”. To highlight this, we used the pocket square as a canvas for the Main Title, drawing inspiration from San Francisco, Charles’ personality, spy gear and the stolen goods. In line with the essence of the show, the icons and letterforms animate playfully as they fall into place to reveal the Main Title.
