Oz the Great and Powerful

We introduced the magical and imaginative world of Sam Raimi by drawing inspiration from a pre-cinematic form of 3D entertainment - the theater of the perspective. Miniature paper theaters containing layered images create scenes with 3D depth, merging the cinema of Oz’s day with modern techniques. 37 different fonts are placed over carefully designed imagery befitting the film’s characters. This B&W stereoscopic sequence flows seamlessly into the film’s first scenes set in 1905 Kansas.
